The college within its affiliation to the Tripura University, a Central University, Agartala offers following Degree Courses as follows:


Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M. B. B. S.) is of four and a half years duration and is followed by Compulsory Rotating Residential Internship of 365 days. The course begins with a short foundation course exposing students to basic principles of Communication, Ethics and Problem Based Learning. The Undergraduate course in Medicine comprises of three stages. The first phase (First Professional) of 12 months duration consists of the basic sciences of Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry. The second phase (Second Professional) is of 18 months duration and comprises Clinical and Para-clinical subjects - Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology and Forensic Medicine.

The Final Phase (third professional) is of 24 months duration and covers Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Community Medicine in Phase I) & Phase II comprises of General Medicine, Paediatrics, Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery and Obstetrics & Gynaecology.

A block posting in Community Health Services is an integral part of each stage. Posting in mission hospitals and secondary care centers is a unique feature of medical education. The internship lasting for 12 months comprises of postings in Community Health, Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Child Health, Orthopaedics, Casualty and short electives in various specialities. All these are as per the guidelines of the Medical Council of India.


Post each Courses (MD and MS) has commenced in the year 2013 and of three years duration. Each year, there are five (05) seats in diffferent disciplines. All are permitted seats from Medical Council of India and are affiliated to Tripura University. The seats are as follows: General Medicine 02 seats, Otorhinolaryngology 01, Pathology 01 and Pharmacology 01. All are MD courses except Otolaryngology which is a MS seat. The course begins with a short foundation course on Research Methodology for exposure of the trainee in conducting the thesis work during their Post Graduate tenure as well as for any research work in their future life.

The post graduate trainees are well trained in the departments under the guidance of their respective guide, co-guide and other faculties of the departments. A high quality thesis work has to be conducted by the post graduate trainee during the tenure to submit for the partial fulfillment of their postgraduate degree courses. They have to attend various conferences, workshops, seminars and continuing medical education programmes (CMEs) in and outside the state not only to gather their knowledge but also to present their appreciable research work. All these are as per the guidelines of the Medical Council of India.
